Student Professional Development Opportunities
Student Employment & Internships
Undergraduate and graduate students can gain real-world experience through a variety of opportunities to work alongside Special Collections and Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) professionals.
Student assistant positions are integral to the work we do in Special Collections. We hire students to staff the reading room, catalog and rehouse objects, photograph and digitize our collections, among many other projects. Students are typically hired at the end of the Spring semester for the next academic year.
Special Collections also offers summer internships, with application deadlines usually occurring in March.
Curatorial Fellowships
Additionally, for advanced graduate students, the Graduate Group in Archaeology, Classics, and History of Art offers Curatorial Fellowships. Fellowships can be completed at ĢƵ's Special Collections and other institutions in the Philadelphia area and the United States.
Seymour Adelman Book Collector's Prize
Special Collections organizes an annual award contest during the spring semester to celebrate the art of book collecting and a chance for students to show off their bibliographic skills. The Seymour Adelman Book Collector's Prize was established in 1979 and is open to all registered ĢƵ undergraduates who are book collectors and book collectors in the making!
